On January 27, 1930 the town of Edgewood, which consisted of 160 acres, was incorporated. Located on land donated by local farmer, Wade Donnelly.  It’s first school, named Park School, sat on the east corner of Park Road and Nichol Avenue and consisted of grades 1-8.  In 1930 a new school was completed.  Mr. Donnelly donated Edgewood Golf Club to the town. Edgewood had an airport between what is now Laurel Lane and Oakwood Drive.  The older homes north of Winding Way were annexed into Edgewood in the mid 1930’s and South Edgewood was annexed in 1962.
